Your information
Privacy Notice
Effective 30 August 2026
Your notes, study responses and favourites are private to your account. MyBle does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We collect only what is needed to provide, protect and understand the service.
1. Who is responsible for your information?
Jay Adams trading as MyBle is the data controller for personal information handled through MyBle.me. Questions, rights requests and account-deletion requests can be sent to privacy@myble.me.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: your Firebase user identifier, email address and, if supplied by Google, display name.
- Private study content: notes, study responses, favourites, praises, the verses you open, time spent reading Scripture, personal reading and praise targets, saved next reads, and the questions you choose to send to Ask MyBle. This content may reveal religious or philosophical beliefs, which UK data-protection law treats as special-category information.
- Agreement records: the versions of the Terms and Privacy Notice you accepted, your age confirmation, your separate special-category consent and the date and time recorded.
- Service and security information: last-active time, broad page-opening counts, essential technical information and information needed to diagnose faults or protect the service.
MyBle does not receive your Google password. Google or your email provider handles those credentials.
3. Why we use it and our lawful bases
- To create your account and provide your private library: because it is necessary to perform our agreement with you.
- To process content that may reveal religious or philosophical beliefs: with your separate explicit consent. You choose what to enter and may withdraw consent.
- To keep MyBle secure, prevent misuse, troubleshoot and understand service-level usage: for our legitimate interests in operating and improving a safe, reliable service, after considering users’ rights—particularly children’s rights.
- To meet legal obligations and respond to rights requests: where the law requires it.
We do not use agreement with the Terms as blanket consent for unrelated uses of your personal information.
4. Who receives information?
We use service providers only where needed to run MyBle. These currently include Firebase and Google for account sign-in, OpenAI for questions you choose to submit to Ask MyBle, Zoho Mail and related email providers for receiving and responding to enquiries, and the infrastructure providers that host and secure the website and database. Providers may process information on our behalf under their own security and data-protection commitments.
We may disclose information where required by law, to protect someone from serious harm, or to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. We do not sell personal information.
5. Ask MyBle
When you send a question to Ask MyBle, the question and relevant conversation context are sent to the AI provider so an answer can be generated. Ask MyBle does not automatically read your private note unless you choose to include information from it. Do not include another person’s confidential or sensitive information unless you have a proper reason and authority.
MyBle does not use Ask MyBle to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
6. International processing
Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards, we rely on an applicable adequacy regulation or approved contractual and organisational safeguards used by the relevant provider. You may ask us for more information about the safeguard relevant to your information.
7. How long we keep information
- Account details and private study content are kept while your account remains active or until you delete the content or ask us to close the account.
- Agreement records may be kept for up to six years after the agreement ends where reasonably needed to demonstrate the agreement and handle legal claims.
- Operational and security records are kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which they were collected.
- Anonymous or sufficiently aggregated statistics that no longer identify a person may be kept for longer.
Deletion from active systems may not remove a copy from a short-lived security backup immediately; backup copies are protected and cycle out through the normal retention process.
8. Children
MyBle accounts are for people aged 13 and over. We use high-privacy defaults and do not use children’s information for targeted advertising or behavioural profiling. Anyone under 13 must not create an account. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
9. Essential storage and cookies
MyBle and its sign-in provider use essential browser storage or similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect your account, remember your reading place and operate requested features. We do not currently use advertising cookies or non-essential analytics cookies. If that changes, we will provide clear information and request any consent required before using them.
10. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal information, object to certain uses, receive portable information, and withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful, but it may mean private notes, study responses or Ask MyBle can no longer be provided.
To exercise a right or withdraw special-category consent, email privacy@myble.me. We may need to verify that the request relates to your account. See our account and data deletion instructions for the steps, data covered and limited retention exceptions.
11. Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when MyBle or the law changes. We will show the new effective date and give reasonable notice of material changes. Where a change requires new consent, we will ask for it separately.
